Reading ‘The Diary of A young Girl’

June 25, 2025, 6 pM Pacific: A Banned Book Reading

As part of Raven Chronicles Press’ Banned Books Project, I will read excerpts from Anne Frank’s book, The Diary of a Young Girl: The Definitive Edition.

Some schools have pulled Anne Frank’s book due to content. I will talk about this briefly and read from this work from a Jewish teen in hiding during World War II. She lived in Nazi Germany-occupied Amsterdam, where she expressed her feelings and thoughts to her only girlfriend with her, a diary she addressed as “Dearest Kitty.” Frank also recorded happenings of two families in hiding for over two years in a set of apartments over her father’s former place of employment. She expressed well beyond her years about what they and others endured during the Holocaust.

Or you may also go to @RavenChroniclesPress on YouTube, where there are many of these banned book readings posted and will continue through the year.

Thank you for supporting the record of important historical books that have been banned. You can further support this endeavor by reading these books yourselves.
