SUMMARY:Seedfall Magazine Launch and Reading\, Third Place Books Seward
DESCRIPTION:Lynne Ellis and Tulipwood Press of Seattle present Volume 2 of Seedfall: Emergence. One of my photographs is published in this issue\, and Ellis invited me to read from my new book at this celebratory event! My books will be available for purchase. Hear other contributors read from this issue as well! \nseedfall\nA literary journal of poetry + prose + visual art\, named for the wealth of samaras that cover the ground in autumn at Tulipwood headquarters. These morsels sustain birds and blanket the soil through the cold months. When spring comes\, hundreds of tiny cotyledons fill the spaces between stones.\n  \n\nWhy Third Place?\nSociologist Ray Oldenberg suggests that each of us needs three places: first is the home; second is the workplace or school; and beyond lies the place where people from all walks of life interact\, experiencing and celebrating their commonality as well as their diversity. It is a third place. In his celebrated book\, The Great Good Place\, Oldenberg discusses how the cafes\, pubs\, town squares\, and other gathering places make a community stronger and bring people together.
